The Government of Maharashtra offers EBC scholarships to Economically Backward Class students. This scholarship’s official name is Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Fee Reimbursement Scheme.

Eligibility Criteria
To apply and receive an EBC scholarship, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Admission Criteria for EBC Scholarship
Students must take Admission Through the Central Admission Process i.e. CAP round. Students admitted through the central admission process, known as CAP rounds conducted by the Maharashtra State CET Cell, are eligible.

A resident of Maharashtra:
The applicant must be a Maharashtra resident, and those from the Maharashtra-Karnataka border can also apply for the scheme.
ही सवलत फक्त महाराष्ट्र रहिवाशी प्रमाणपत्र असणाऱ्या विद्यार्थ्यास लागू असेल. इतर राज्यातील रहिवाशी विद्यार्थी अपात्र. महाराष्ट्र कर्नाटक सीमेवरील विद्यार्थी या योजनेसाठी अर्ज दाखल करू शकतात.
Income limit
The family annual income limit is up to Rs. 8 lakh.
कुटुंबाचे एकूण वार्षिक उत्पन्न ८ लाखापेक्षा कमी असणे आवश्यक.
Children limit
As per the Government Resolution, the first two children are eligible for the scheme.
एकूण अपत्यांपैकी पहिले दोन अपत्य या सवलतीचा फायदा घेऊ शकतात.
Category:
Candidates who are admitted under the general category are eligible. This scholarship is available for all students, including the Open, SC, ST, OBC, NT, and VJ category students.
Aadhaar Card Seeded Bank Account:
The candidate shall possess an Aadhaar-Seeded bank account having a centralized banking system facility.
No Other Scholarship allowed
The candidate should not apply for or avail of any other scholarship or stipend. The candidate should not avail of the benefit of other categories. अर्जदाराने इतर कोणत्याही शिष्यावृतीचा लाभ घेतलेला नसावा
NO GAP or Less Than 2 Years GAP
If the candidate has a gap of 2 years, not eligible for an EBC scholarship.
Other Criteria
The candidate must attempt every semester or annual exam. If admitted in Distance Education, virtual learning and part-time courses, the candidate will not be eligible for an EBC scholarship.
Eligible Courses
This scheme applies to those students who are appearing for any of the following courses:
- Diploma: Engineering, Pharmacy, Hotel Management & Catering Technology
- Graduation: Engineering, Pharmacy, Hotel Management & Catering Technology, Architecture
- Post Graduation: MBA, MMS, MCA
- Medical Education: MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, BPTH, BOTH & Nursing
- Agriculture: Diploma in Agri, Degree in Agri & related subjects, Fruit cultivation, Bio-Tech, Food Technology, Agri Management, Post Graduation in Agri & related subjects
- Animal, Fish & Milk Dept: Diploma in Animal & Milk, Degree in Animal, Milk, Fish science, Post-graduation in Animal
Courses from GR 07/10/17 (DHE courses) can apply.
EBC scholarship is applicable for government-approved courses.
- The Courses approved by the Government, University, AICTE, PCI, COA, MCI, NCTE etc. are eligible.
- Professional and non-professional courses which come Under Directorate of Higher Education (DTE)
- Government or Non-government aided or Partially Aided – Unaided or Permanent Unaided College and Non-Agricultural Universities and Sub-Centers
- EBC scholarship in 2022-23 and 2023-24 is available for economically backward class i.e. economically weaker section students.
Note
EBC scholarship is not applicable if the candidate is studying in Private Universities or Self-financed Private Universities.

Documents Required for EBC Scholarship
Documents to be submitted to the institute for verification and approval process of EBC scholarship in Maharashtra:
Domicile Certificate
Students should submit a domicile certificate issued by an Authorized official (Generally Tehsildar or District Collector). Applicants who live in Maharashtra and are from the Maharashtra-Karnataka border area can apply for the scheme.
Income certificate
Students should submit the previous year’s Annual income certificate issued by an Authorized official (Generally Tehsildar or District Collector).

Applicable for B.ed, Law, B. Ped, M. Ped
Gap Related Document
Only if Gap is there
Family Declaration Certificate
A Family declaration certificate about two children is needed.
Attendance Certificate
Attendance Certificate with 50% from Concern College.

Process for EBC Scholarship
- Take three Copies of the printout of the filled application form.
- Take your Signature, attach the required document and Undertaking.
- Two copies, along with Documents, are to be submitted to the institution and the third one shall be returned as an acknowledgement.

The EBC scholarship 2023 application form & online registration are available at the MahaDBT website. Registration is available in both English as well as the Marathi language.
Details required for EBC registration:
You may need the following details at the time of online EBC scholarship form filling.
- Aadhaar No.: 12 digit aadhaar number
- Personal Details – Name, Gender, Candidature type, Category, Religion, Date of Birth, mother tongue.
- Admission Details – Admission year, program type, Institute name, course name, choice code, seat type, admission date, reporting date, CAP round, CAP Merit No., Contact Details, Other Personal Details, The Enrollment Number assigned by the University / MSBTE
- Family Income Details (For Financial Year 2016-17): Total Family income including both parents, Income certificate issuing authority (Collector/Tahsildar/SDO), Income Certificate date and number
- Bank Details: Candidate Name as per bank record, Account Number, IFSC Code, Branch name, MICR Code,
- Qualification details: SSC, HSC, Graduation etc.
- Photograph: Scanned copy of Photograph
EBC Scholarship Renewal
- Last year, students who availed of the scholarship could apply for the Renewal scholarship.
- To Renew the application, a student should use an application ID from the list published on the website of DHE Pune, Higher Education Directorate.
